Cut-and-Bend Rebar Product is the straightening (optional), bending, and cutting of steel bar to fabricate rebar products such as main bars, crank bars, stirrups, binders and links for the reinforcement of concrete. In Hong Kong Steel Reinforcing Bars for the reinforcement of concrete shall comply to Construction Standard CS2. Cut-and-Bend Rebar Product is commonly used in foundation of structure such as pile, pile cap, footing, transfer plate, and in superstructure such as column, wall, beam, slab and others.
Cut-and-Bend Rebar Product may be fabricated from straight deformed bar, and deformed bar in coils (DBIC). This study report focuses on Cut-and-Bend Rebar Product using steel bars (DBIC) of NatSteel Holdings Pte Ltd (NatSteel).
DBIC provides benefits of reduced material wastage in the fabrication process due to the continuous length nature of the coiled bar, and also storage space saving with its compact size.
